How it Works
- Discover Scuba Diving experiences are for parties of two over the age of 12, up to 3 or 4 divers if one or two of your group is already a certified diver. Part of your day will be learning some skills on land before we enter the water.
- Most dives last about 15 minutes once you’re under water (depending on individual air consumption). While the depth limit for Discover Scuba Diving is 40 feet, we generally stay at about 30 feet and above.
- We’ll send you the required (and short!) e-Learning ahead of time so you’ll understand the basics. When you arrive, we’ll run through a little quiz on what you’ve learned so far. (No pass or fail!)
- Next, we’ll train you how to use scuba equipment and go over the basic safety skills that every diver needs to know. Understanding things like how to use a regulator to breathe underwater, what to do if there’s water in your mask or if the regulator falls out of your mouth will help you feel safe and confident. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!
- Then we’ll gear up and enter the water where your instructor will demonstrate, and you’ll perform those skills. After that we’ll cruise around underwater, and your instructor will run all your equipment for you. Your whole job is to breathe, kick and trust us!
- Success means you’ve tried something new and had a great time doing it. If it turns out that being underwater isn’t your thing, we’ll stay at the surface either in the gear or just snorkel without it. You’ll see all the same things, just from a different angle!
- As divers, we share a deep connection with the ocean. We can make a difference for ocean protection every time we dive. During your day you’ll hear how we’re making a difference at Casino Point. Ask us about earning a PADI AWARE Specialist certification while you’re here!
What’s Required
- Uncertified diving does require medical clearance and diving in the ocean your first time might not be a good fit. Let’s talk!
- All uncertified group members must be over the age of 12. Anyone under 18 must have parental consent, so make sure you have all the necessary forms filled out and submitted ahead of time.
- You must have a basic level of comfort in the ocean. When you’re first learning, wearing all the gear can sometimes be stressful as you may feel a lack of control over your physical self.
