Design a day of Guided Diving

Come explore our stunning Catalina kelp forests in your own time, at your own pace. The Casino Point Dive Park is a Marine Protected Area easily accessible from shore, abundant with hundreds of species of fish, wrecks and artificial reefs with depths of up to 100 feet.

Considered one of the top shore diving destinations in the country, there’s something here for beginners and advanced scuba divers alike. Experience a magical encounter with our visiting Giant Black Sea Bass (aka wreckfish) which can grow more than 7 feet long weighing 500 pounds or more. They love to hover motionless between rows of Catalina kelp. Visibility is regularly over 50 feet – don’t forget to look up to see the sunlight filtering through the canopy above!

Choose either a half or full day of scuba diving with any combination of dives, all led by an experienced local PADI pro dedicated to you and your group.

If you’ve been out of the water for a while and are feeling a little rusty or perhaps just looking for some pointers on how to improve, begin your day with a Refresher Dive! Your private instructor will discuss your unique situation and customize the dive to your needs. If it’s been longer than 5 years, please call us to discuss.

We’ll cover key skills, evaluate you in the water and help you grow as a diver.

Scuba diving = lifelong learning!

Refresh, rejuvenate and engage your senses as you explore the Dive Park’s underwater world. Look for curious California sea lions to cruise by, spot a tiny nudibranch, see bright orange nesting Garibaldi (our state marine fish), encounter a shy eel or octopus, maybe even spy some shark eggs! If you’re doing multiple dives, you’ll see a different area of the Park each time.

Are you a brand-new scuba diver or traveling with kids? Because Catalina Island is built on a shelf, there’s a ton of life to be seen in the top 40 feet- it’s like an aquarium! If you’re an experienced diver, you’ll visit some of the wrecks and artificial reefs located in deeper areas.

Interested in photography? Rent a GoPro and your guide will point out some of the best shots.

Want to try Nitrox? Enriched Air/ Nitrox tank rental is available on-site (requires Enriched Air certification). For full-day experiences, book a certification with e-Learning completed ahead of time!

As divers, we share a deep connection with the ocean. We can make a difference for ocean protection every time we dive. During your day you’ll hear how we’re making a difference at Casino Point. Ask us about earning a PADI AWARE Specialist certification while you’re here!

Everything looks different at night! Discover a whole new world underwater when you visit the Park after Dark.

The Dive Park is home to many creatures such as our two-spotted octopus, larger California morays, small sand sharks, bat and round rays and tons of spiny lobster that all come out at night. Did you know lobsters swim backwards?

We provide high-powered flashlights as part of your gear setup.

Night dives are available for half-day afternoon or full-day packages only.

All group members must be certified divers with proof of certification and will participate in the same dives. Depth restrictions apply for divers aged 10-15. Dives take place from shore at the Casino Point Dive Park on Catalina Island. No boat diving is available.
