PADI AWARE is a global movement for ocean protection powered by a community of adventurers that exists to connect their passion for ocean adventure with the purpose of marine conservation.
The Foundation is a publicly funded, non-profit organization empowering local communities to take action on the greatest threats facing the ocean. We share their belief in a future where the ocean no longer needs protecting and are proud to be a PADI 100% AWARE Partner.
Certifications
We offer several PADI AWARE certifications! We think it’s empowering to see how even the small things we do can make a big impact. It’s not just as divers either – we can apply our knowledge during our “surface intervals” too! Best of all, because we’re a 100% AWARE partner, you will receive a special PADI AWARE version of your PADI certification card so that you can proudly display your support of ocean conservation!
Aware Specialist
During your day of diving with us you’ll hear how we’re making a difference at Casino Point. Through interactive discussions, we’ll discuss how you can be a force for change every time you travel.
If you’re interested in earning the certification, it’s an available as an inexpensive add-on to any experience. A dry, ‘fins-off’ course, this specialty is ideal for divers and ocean enthusiasts alike to gain insight into how decisions above and below the surface impact our water planet.
Dive Against Debris
One way we can make a difference is to “Make Every Dive a Survey Dive”.
We provide mesh bags for use during all of your dives with us, just in case you see something in our beautiful preserve that shouldn’t be there. (And we check to make sure there aren’t any creatures living in bottles or cans.)
In this class we’ll make our dive, collect debris, record the data and submit it online! You can then find your survey on their interactive map which represents the largest underwater citizen science database and movement for marine debris on the planet.
Fish Identification
Imagine gliding seamlessly through schools of tiny Blacksmith just after spawning or hovering motionless to observe the Giant Black Sea Bass!
The Casino Point Dive Park is beautiful and in this class, you’ll be trained to recognize the fish around you plus become a Citizen Scientist, completing and submitting fish surveys to the Reef Environmental Education Foundation.
It’s a whole new way to experience the Park!
